LBM ("little brown mushroom") is a catch-all term used by casual Western foragers for the countless small to medium-sized, dark or dull-colored species that are notoriously hard to distinguish—much like how Russian mushroom pickers use the word поганка as a blanket term for any suspicious or inedible-looking mushroom.
